Strict. Mugler Resort’15

First of all, you need to know who is David Koma. Well, he is a Georgian designer born in Paris, known for his eponymous line called with his name. I never really got amused with his style- strict, sleek tailoring and lots of geometrical prints. And guess what- he is now the new creative director of the French fashion maison, Mugler. But instead of doing Lady Gaga filled fashion shows like in case of former Mugler designer, Nicolas Formichetti, Koma is more into sub-tile presentations… That are not really in the spirit of Thierry Mugler. No colours, no burning sex-appeal, no show-time. Only the sad 21st century minimalism. For Resort 2015, the designer did it all in his signatures- le smokings in razor sharp edition; simple body dresses; modernistic blouses and sweatshirts. For me it all feels solemn and boring- but hopefully we will see something far better than this in September.
